Sour Lake Part II

Here are two pictures from our walk using the new stroller. John-Paul loved being pushed in a position that allowed him to see what was coming in front of him. On our walk we saw some neighborhood dogs, tall trees, bugs, and the Schroders.

Here is a picture from our trip to Daddy's office. We got to go all over the office to show off John-Paul. Everyone loved the little man. I am pretty sure he was the talk of the building!

We love you Babe! Enjoy yourself but make sure you are safe!

Sour Lake

Hey Babe, Here is a quick update from the past several days. Well as you can see I got a hair cut. I am still getting use to it, but I think it was high time for me to do something different with my locks. John-Paul and I are doing great. We went to mass today (Sunday) with Daddy and got compliments from just about everyone on how cute and how good John-Paul is.

Daddy watched John-Paul while I ran to town for the hair cut. I think he had a great time being the babysitter. He even changed two diapers (this is the first time he changed John-Paul's diaper). There was even and close call during the diaper change. Daddy said he had just covered John-Paul withe a clean diaper when he relieved himself :0)

I just thought this picture was cute and representative of dinner last night. Daddy went to a concert with friends, but before the music began they all met for dinner. John-Paul and I went along to see everyone. He was being a ham the whole time we were waiting on our food. He was standing on my lap, smiling, cooing, drooling, and steeling everyone's hearts. As soon as the food came out he started wailing. I had to take him outside for a bit. I ended up passing him off to Daddy and then to two other people so I could quickly eat my food. It was pretty funny, and everyone enjoyed having their time to try to sooth the little man.

Thanks for your blog postings! I sent an e-mail out yesterday telling people to check your blog for Africa updates. We love you and are praying for you. Please keep us updated on different ways we can pray for you. Keep your mom, Emily, and Kaela in your prayers on Monday and Tuesday as they make their way to Houston. We love you sooo much!!!

Neumanns in Houston

Sunday morning Tony, John-Paul and I went to mass at SVdP. During the sign of peace the man sitting next to us congratulated Tony on the new baby. Tony politely replied, "He is my nephew". Ohh Tony, you are funny. After mass and and a visit to the hospital we made our way to Buffalo Grill for the a scrumptious breakfast of eggs, gravy, hashbrowns, pancakes, french toast, and sausage. Believe it or not we all cleaned our plates! John-Paul was in such disbelief he fell right asleep :0)

(Nanna does a great job putting John-Paul to sleep!)

Tuesday was a great day because we finally got Skype to work... well me made it work. Tuesday afternoon I got a call from NanNan and Aunt Katie saying Chris is on skype. I tried to use Chris' computer but the internet wouldn't work and I tried using my computer but skype wouldn't open. After a while of trying to fix the problem computers we finally had Chris talk to Kaela on Skype, Kaela put her phone next to the computer and called Mrs. Neumann, and I talked to Chris on Mrs. Neumann's phone. We finally made it work!

(Look Daddy, I can hold my head up all by myself.)

(I love you Daddy. Mommy and I are praying for you every day.)

Thank you God for safe travels and for technology

Friday Chris left for Africa. It was a sad good bye at the airport, but we were happy that the adventure was just beginning. For Chris it will be one of many miles, new faces, new food, new culture, and an unbelievably fun rotation. For John-Paul and I, we will just have to see. Friday after a busy morning of final packing, good byes at the hospital and airport, doctor's visit via phone, and an ornery smoke detector it was finally nap time followed by a restful evening at home.

Early Saturday morning we had some visitors. Uncle Jim, Aunt JoAnn, and Tony came to Houston to meet John-Paul, visit Dad Neumann, and eat at yummy Little Papasitos for dinner.

The best part of these first two days was a phone call from a number starting with "000". It was a good thing I answered the call from that funny number because it was my husband calling from Africa!!! Ohh it was soo good to hear Chris' voice on the other end of the phone. And then came skype which allowed us to see and talk to each other. Thank you God for safe travels and for technology! We love you Chris!
